Hampden Bank, formerly known as Hampden & Co, has announced a major relocation of its Edinburgh headquarters and a rebrand, marking a significant milestone as it prepares to celebrate its 10-year anniversary in June.

The private bank, which caters to high-net-worth clients, has moved from 9 Charlotte Square, its base since 2015, to a newly developed office at 20 and 21 Charlotte Square—an area at the heart of Edinburgh’s financial district. The move comes as the bank continues its expansion and prepares for the relocation of its London office later this year.

A Move to Support Growth

CEO Tracey Davidson highlighted the bank’s rapid growth as the key driver behind the decision to relocate.

“Our growth over the last 10 years has led to a need for larger offices,” she said. “The move across Edinburgh’s Charlotte Square to beautifully renovated buildings provides collaborative and communal spaces for colleagues and room for further growth. We will also relocate our London office later in the year. Both new offices have spectacular entertainment spaces, and we look forward to welcoming our many clients, shareholders, and professional partners.”

The new Edinburgh headquarters, developed by The Charlotte Square Collection, has been described as “a pinnacle of contemporary design in a heritage setting.” The double-townhouse office features open-plan floors, restored original staircases, and a purpose-built auditorium at the rear, designed to host events and client gatherings.

Rebranding to Hampden Bank

Alongside the move, the bank has rebranded from Hampden & Co to Hampden Bank. CEO Tracey Davidson explained that the new name aligns with the bank’s identity and future vision.

“The update to our name reflects our identity and vision for the Bank and more clearly communicates our unwavering focus on banking with the highest standards of service.”

Continued Growth and Future Outlook

Hampden Bank is set to publish its 2024 annual results next month, with expectations of continued strong growth. The rebrand and expansion come as the bank approaches a decade of operations, having first launched in 2015 as a specialist provider of personalised banking services.

The bank’s forthcoming London office relocation later this year signals further investment in its high-touch, relationship-driven banking model.

As Hampden Bank enters its second decade, the move to a larger, more modern headquarters and the adoption of a simplified brand identity signal its ambitions for the future, reinforcing its position within the UK’s private banking sector.
