Transicon, a leading Shropshire-based firm that specialises in cutting-edge automated control systems, has marked a successful year and is poised for further growth in 2025. With a strong presence in the UK manufacturing sector, the company has reported a turnover exceeding £6 million and is confident in its future prospects, bolstered by the launch of its new mechatronics division in 2024.
Founded in 1967, Transicon has become a trusted partner to major manufacturers, including household names like Muller Dairy, BMW, and Tata Steel. Over the last 12 months, the firm’s strategic focus on expanding its service and maintenance offerings has driven consistent growth.
General Manager Jennifer Hughes highlighted the company’s ongoing success and the growing demand for its products and services. “The official launch of our mechatronics division was a significant milestone for the business, enabling us to meet the increasing demand for integrated solutions that blend mechanical engineering with automated control systems,” said Hughes. “This division opens up exciting opportunities in sectors such as automotive manufacturing and food and drink processing.”
One of Transicon’s standout achievements this year has been its collaboration with Bosch Rexroth to revolutionise the handling and stacking processes at a well-known UK steel manufacturer. The project, which involved the development of a state-of-the-art stacker powered by Transicon’s Delta robots, resulted in significant improvements in both safety and efficiency during the production of cut-to-length steel profiles.
Hughes noted that the mechatronics division’s ability to create bespoke, innovative solutions tailored to customer needs has been a key factor in the company’s growth. “We are excited to have several other projects already lined up for 2025, and the demand for our services continues to grow,” she added.
Looking ahead to the future, Transicon is keen to expand its reach even further. In addition to continuing to innovate in automation and control systems, the company will also place a strong emphasis on skills and workforce development. Transicon is committed to nurturing the next generation of engineers through its apprenticeship programme and plans to collaborate with schools in the area to promote STEM skills.
“We’re focused on ensuring a pipeline of talent for the future,” Hughes said. “We will be growing our apprenticeship scheme and working with more schools to highlight the importance of STEM education and inspire the next wave of engineers.”
With its robust market presence, innovative approach, and focus on developing skilled talent, Transicon is well-positioned to continue its successful trajectory in 2025 and beyond.
