West Yorkshire-based compliance specialist, Inspectas, has made six significant appointments, ranging from trainee to board level, as part of its ongoing expansion. The company, which specialises in property safety and compliance, has bolstered its team with new hires in fire safety, asbestos management, laboratory operations, and business development. The new additions bring an impressive 80 years of combined experience to the growing firm.
Among the new appointments is Andy Walker, who joins as Management Board Director. Walker is expected to play a crucial role in guiding the company’s strategic growth as it continues to secure new contracts across sectors such as specialist housing, education, and local government. His appointment underscores Inspectas’ commitment to reinforcing its leadership team during this period of rapid expansion.
Additionally, Jason Smith has been named Business Development Manager. Smith will be responsible for strengthening client relations and exploring new business opportunities. His role is particularly pivotal as the company looks to broaden its portfolio of services and tap into new market streams.
Inspectas’ multi-disciplinary team now numbers 56, following a series of hires that include Irene Tom as Assistant Laboratory Manager, Darren Tubb as Senior Consultant for Fire, Kristian Bailey as Senior Asbestos and Framework Manager, and Alex Robinson as a Trainee Analyst Surveyor. These appointments reflect Inspectas’ commitment to enhancing its in-house expertise, particularly in compliance services that include asbestos management, fire safety, and health and safety.
Speaking about the company’s recent growth, Inspectas Director and co-founder Matthew Fahy said: “We are experiencing a rapid period of growth thanks to a series of new contracts in sectors like specialist housing, education, local government, and energy. The legislative requirements for building compliance are non-negotiable but can be incredibly complex for businesses to navigate. Many organisations are seeking external expertise, and with our expanding client base, we are investing in top-tier practitioners to deliver our specialist services. This ranges from fire risk assessments to comprehensive asbestos management.”
Fahy also expressed his enthusiasm for the new appointments: “We’re delighted to welcome Andy, Jason, Irene, Darren, Kristian, and Alex to the Inspectas family. It’s fantastic to provide opportunities for both new starters in the industry and seasoned professionals who bring technical knowledge and expertise. Their combined experience will significantly strengthen our offering, and we’re excited to grow the business together, sharing best practices along the way.”
