As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) and Women’s Entrepreneurship Day, business networking organisation Pink Link is hosting a major event aimed at empowering female entrepreneurs. Dubbed “GEW2024 Going For Growth,” the event on Tuesday, 19 November, will bring together women founders, growth advisors, and industry leaders at Liverpool’s Hope Street Hotel. This initiative is designed to equip women entrepreneurs with the knowledge and resources needed to scale their businesses.
Pink Link’s founder, Coral Horn, emphasised the importance of accessible resources to overcome the unique challenges women often face when expanding a business. “Scaling a business is thrilling but can be challenging. This event is set up to provide women entrepreneurs with the tools, connections, and insights needed to fast-track their growth,” she said.
A notable guest at the event is Christine Nichols, winner of the 2024 Enterprise Vision Awards for Outstanding Achievement. Nichols, who co-founded the Atlantic Pacific Group, will share her story of resilience and determination, reflecting on her journey from leaving school without qualifications to leading a multimillion-pound logistics company. “I left school at 15 years old with no qualifications. I now own six businesses with a £60 million turnover and nearly 250 staff, and this year won the King’s Award for Enterprise. If I can do it, so can you,” Nichols said. Her logistics firm, Atlantic Pacific Group, operates across the UK, USA, and Ireland and has been at the forefront of global supply chain solutions since its founding in 2000.
The event’s panel discussions will also feature Preeti Choudhary, 2024 Scale Up Award winner and founder of Pro-Business Consulting. With expertise in Med-Tech and pharmaceutical industries, Choudhary’s firm assists companies in navigating regulatory frameworks and accelerating product delivery. Her insights will highlight the importance of strategic planning and regulatory compliance in successful business scaling. “Cutting through regulatory red tape is essential for growth, particularly in sectors with high compliance demands. I look forward to sharing strategies to make this process smoother,” Choudhary said.
The British Business Bank, the UK’s economic development bank, is a primary partner for the event. Known for its role in supporting UK businesses through various finance options, the British Business Bank will be on hand to provide resources and guidance on growth. Delyth Edwards, Senior Manager at the bank, highlighted the importance of facilitating access to finance for female entrepreneurs. “We are delighted to partner with GEW2024 to spotlight the wealth of support available for women in business. By raising awareness of our debt and equity finance programmes, we aim to break down barriers in access to finance and help female entrepreneurs scale,” Edwards said.
The event will feature a wide array of resources, including strategic insights, growth tips, and networking opportunities. By gathering financial experts, seasoned entrepreneurs, and growth advisors, “GEW2024 Going For Growth” aims to empower women to transform challenges into opportunities, boosting both their confidence and growth prospects.
With its focus on practical resources and inspirational stories, the event aligns with Global Entrepreneurship Week’s theme of promoting inclusive economic growth.
