Digital marketing platform Constant Contact has announced the acquisition of Txtify Technologies, a company specialising in mobile-first lead generation via customised microsites and surveys. The move is set to bolster Constant Contact’s offerings, providing small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) with enhanced tools to convert digital engagement into valuable customer relationships.
Constant Contact, which serves millions of SMBs and non-profits globally, said the acquisition would enable its users to quickly create branded, mobile-optimised lead generation forms without requiring coding or web development experience. The addition of Txtify’s technology aims to help small businesses capitalise on their social media presence by turning likes, comments, and shares into qualified leads.
With more than 60% of small businesses relying on social media as their primary customer engagement channel, many struggle to convert that engagement into sales. According to Constant Contact’s Small Business Now report, over half of SMBs cited social media as the area where they need the most marketing support.
“The profile of today’s small business has evolved, with many launching and growing their brand on social media before they even build a website or send their first email campaign,” said Frank Vella, CEO of Constant Contact. “Our acquisition of Txtify Technologies enables us to provide mobile-first and social-first entrepreneurs with the tools they need to own their audience on social media, and convert followers into a marketing list. This is an important step forward in our commitment to supporting SMBs with innovative marketing solutions.”
With the integration of Txtify’s technology into Constant Contact’s platform, businesses will be able to design and deploy lead generation forms in a matter of minutes. These forms can be customised with the company’s branding and are optimised for mobile use, making them ideal for capturing contact information from social media followers. Once businesses have gathered contact details, they can build stronger relationships with their audience through email and SMS marketing.
John Stewart, co-founder and CEO of Txtify Technologies, expressed enthusiasm for the acquisition: “We are thrilled to bring our lead generation technology to a larger audience as part of Constant Contact’s platform. Our mission has always been to simplify lead capture and conversion for small businesses, and by joining Constant Contact, we are confident we can help even more SMBs grow and succeed.”
As part of the deal, Stewart, along with Txtify co-founder and Chief Technology Officer Eric Dewhirst, has joined Constant Contact. Both will play a key role in integrating Txtify’s technology into the platform. The addition of Txtify’s mobile-first capabilities complements Constant Contact’s existing services, including email, SMS, social media ads, and event marketing.
The integration of Txtify’s lead generation tools will allow SMBs to expand their contact lists, gain better insights into their audience, and link social media activity more directly to revenue growth. This development promises to provide a more seamless experience for businesses looking to grow their customer base through social media and mobile-first strategies.
