Leaders from Rubicon Bridge, a regulatory tech disruptor based in Yorkshire, have met with key industry contacts at Amazon’s premier partner event, aiming to assist US companies in entering international markets.
Managing Director Kathryn Brown, Chief Revenue Officer Alan Worthing, and Regulatory Transformation Director Daniel Hibbitt attended the Amazon Accelerate conference in Seattle, where they held discussions to promote Rubicon Bridge’s innovative technology. The company is seeking to collaborate with several prominent US food and supplements brands to trial its cutting-edge solutions, which simplify the regulatory processes that often hinder market entry.
Rubicon Bridge operates from the C4DI (Centre for Digital Innovation) tech hub in Hull. Launched in 2023, it is a sister company to Rubicon Technical, which has been providing regulatory compliance support to consumer health brands for over 15 years. The firm’s technology is designed to expedite the process for food and food supplement brands looking to expand into new markets.
Integration with Amazon has been pivotal for Rubicon Bridge, allowing it to penetrate a growing number of European markets. Now, the company is keen to introduce its Reg Tech Tool™ to the US, where they see significant potential for local brands to leverage their technology to access lucrative international markets.
Kathryn Brown expressed her enthusiasm about the Amazon Accelerate event, stating, “It was great to be at Amazon Accelerate. We had very encouraging discussions, and it’s clear from the meetings in Seattle that there is growing recognition of our technology’s power to cut through compliance complexities and open up export markets.”
Rubicon Bridge aims to support US-based food brands in their global growth ambitions, with plans to establish trials with leading companies in the sector. Brown remarked, “We’re rapidly opening up markets across Europe and see huge potential in helping US-based food brands to grow globally.”
Amazon Accelerate is an annual conference for the ecommerce giant’s selling partners, attracting approximately 4,000 attendees in person and another 8,000 virtually. During the event, Rohan Oommen, Amazon’s Vice President of Worldwide Trustworthy Shopping Experience, highlighted the increasing challenge of regulatory compliance, which is precisely what Rubicon Bridge’s technology aims to address.
Oommen noted, “We understand the challenges posed by the ever-evolving landscape of product compliance requirements. In just the next three years, we anticipate the introduction of 120 new product and environmental regulations in the EU alone.”
Rubicon Bridge’s Reg Tech Tool™ is already integrated into Amazon’s European Service Provider Network, allowing food supplement companies selling through Amazon in the EU to ensure their products comply with regulatory requirements. The technology drastically reduces the time needed to check compliance, turning a process that typically takes months into mere minutes.
Currently, the Reg Tech Tool™ is active in nine European countries, and Rubicon Bridge is focused on introducing it to the US market. This visit to Amazon Accelerate marks the beginning of their outreach efforts.
In addition to the conference, Kathryn Brown is participating in a Women in Tech Trade Mission organised by the UK Department for Business & Trade, visiting New York, Philadelphia, and New Jersey. She is eager to connect with US business leaders and investors, underscoring the transformative potential of Rubicon Bridge’s technology in opening new global markets.
Earlier this year, Rubicon Bridge was named one of the 15 UK start-ups outside London to watch, according to investors, highlighting its growing profile as a high-growth investment opportunity.
